This was my first real recording
project... I was under the impression that we knew the
material and could go in live and just do it in a couple
of takes. Yes, I was sadly mistaken. I'd like to thank Jeff Covert for
keeping us honest. In many places where I/we thought
something was fine, he'd isolate a specific part and the
horror would be apparent. That boy has an ear like no
other, which is why he is able to do what he does. Thanx
Jeff! - Louie Warren
Peter Bonta... I had dealt with Peter
years ago when another project I was in came to Wally Cleaver's to do
a live recording of cover songs for a demo. Didn't get to
know him much then but my first impression, as with
anyone that meets the man, was he was a nice guy and
seasoned professional in the music business. This was
made very clear the cold winter's day he came down to
Wally Cleaver's and did the keyboard parts for the
project. We had written these tunes with me doing the
keyboard parts on guitar synth. While that worked well
live, Jeff Covert let me hear how that sounded and I
asked him to see if Peter would do it. Mr. Bonta came in
that Saturday morning... I gave him simple chord charts
(what they are, not where they go)... he would listen to
a track and mess around a bit, then he would play the
song... most in the 1st take! Ten tunes in six straight
hours... Thanx again Peter. - Louie Warren
