It Ain't Gonna Happen

She said, "Here take my phone number, in case you change your mind."
I couldn't help but notice, from where I stood the girl looked fine
It only took a second baby for me to think of you
Should I lose my head and burn the greatest love I ever knew?
And I said, "Honey, that sure is a pretty red dress you're packin'...
...and it ain't gonna happen

Now I am not the kind of man, to think that I'm all that
But when she looked into my eyes, my conscience fades to black
My knees began to buckle and my heart began to pound
When I opened up my mouth, I could barely make a sound
And I said, "Honey, they sure are some tight blue jeans you're packin'...
...and it ain't gonna happen... not tonight

'Cos I'm a one woman man, this I can say
My baby's got a fryin' pan, she can use one of two ways
She can fry me up a chicken, or she can go upside my head
When she finds out about you, after my whuppin' I'd be dead!

So go on with your sweet self, I can't take this anymore
The way you walk, the way you talk, about to knock me to the floor
It's all I can do just to turn and walk away
Just one more word from you and I might be beggin' you to stay
And I said, "Honey, this sure is a shiny gold band I'm packin'...
...and it ain't gonna happen... not tonight

It ain't gonna happen... not tonight

It ain't gonna happen...
