Pain Town
She
calls he mama, Mama, calls me long distance on the phone
If things don't turn out like they ought to, you just leave well
enough alone
And I can't fight the many reasons, or change the way I feel
Another heart gets broken, another heart learns how to heal
As I lie
here in silence, I think of all the words you said
Tears and black coffee, and one last cigarette
And I keep reaching for the answer, but there's nothing left to
touch
Another cold day is dawning, and I still miss you so much
And when
my feet, hit the ground
And that old mill work whistle sounds
If I could just get through the door, I'd be ok
For one day more
After all, I'm not the only lonely fool
Still hangin' 'round
That's just the way life goes
Here in pain town
The bar
and the bottle, try to wash this pain out of my heart
A little girl and her mama, tryin' to make a brand new start
You know mill work don't pay much money
But I send them all I can
Everybody knows it's over
But nobody understands
And when
my feet, hit the ground
And that old mill work whistle sounds
If I could just get through the door, I'd be ok
For one day more
After all, I'm not the only lonely fool
Still hangin' 'round
That's just the way life goes
Here in pain town
That's
just the way life goes
Here in pain town
